Udupi: District CITU Stages Protest in Solidarity with Employees of Unorganized Sector

The district unit of Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) staged a protest in front of Taluk Panchayat office, here on Thursday September 17, in order to condemn the lathicharge by policemen on the peaceful agitators of labourers from unorganized sector while they staged a protest in front of the office of deputy commissioners at Mandya, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bellary and Hassan, recently.


 
The district unit of CITU urged the state administration, to take strict action against the policemen responsible for lathicharge on peaceful agitators of unorganized sector, in various districts across the state. The protesters also urged to fulfill the demands of employees of unorganized sectors and address their grievances. 
 
Meanwhile, CITU agitators here also presented a memorandum to state government through tahsildar Prasanna. Vishwanath Rai, Dogu Suvarna, Ramesh Mendon, Vittal Poojary, Derick Rebello, Ratna and Girija among others were present.
