Kundapur, Sep 23: Under the auspices of Karnataka Nature Photographers Association Mysore, a one-day workshop, along with an exhibition of wildlife photography, was recently held at Canara College of Nursing, Koteshwar near here.

Uday Kumar Shetty, managing director of Bailoor Education Trust, presided over the inaugural of the workshop. In his inaugural address, he expressed the opinion that a wildlife photographer needs to be endowed with a sense of devotion, coupled with a power of quick thinking and imagination. Dr H S Malli, a nationalist, who chaired the workshop, noted that while watching the wild life through the eyes of his camera, the photographer needs to catch invariably and timely glimpses of life of  the wild birds and animals. Even if he loses his alertness and sense of timing for a fraction a second, the scene he wants to catch in camera is lost forever in a flick, he observed.

Dr Sudhakar Nambiyar, trustee of Kotilingeshwara Temple, B Vinay Kumar Shetty, managing director, Bailoor Education Trust, Shanthappa Navada and Ashok Kumar Shetty, president South Kanara Photographers Association, were the chief guests of the function.

The closing ceremony was graced by Vishwanath Pandith, deputy superintendent of police. Kundapur.
