Bantwal, Sep 24:
A controversy was ignited on Wednesday September 23 after the images of Lord Ganesha were found on a new consignment of children’s footwear that arrived from Bangalore to a retail footwear shop located at B C Road, here.

The offending footwear has come from a wholesaler in Jalahalli, Bangalore.  The footwear has been manufactured by M D and Sons, New Delhi, and marketed by their sister concern M D Enterprises, Bangalore, and their contact numbers are printed on the cartons.

Local Hindu organizations have expressed anguish over the issue and urged the district administration to take swift action in this regard.  Town sub-inspector Vivekanand has already taken possession of the entire consignment of footwear.

Mr. Ajith , we think you would have felt very proud of yourselves if your own image or photos was on all the footwares (preferably on the bottom side). If you don't care about others sentiments, keep your opinions to yourself.

Mr. Ajith be careful before your show of malice with words. A true follower of faith will never put his words in that way. Dare to write comments in your real name. His comments are not worth to be published.

A highly disgusting, deplorable and condemnable act. No body has the right to offend the feelings of other communities directly or indirectly. We stand by our hindu brethern in solidarity in protesting against the picture of Lord Ganesh in footwear. The people involved in this business must tender an unconditional apology to our hindu brothers. No body is above law. Lets respect our neighbour's feelings for a better and peaceful loiving.
