Mangalore: DCC Urges Governor to Take Action against State over Law, Order Issue

Mangalore, Sep 25:
Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) met the Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj, here on Wednesday September 23 and urged to take actions against the BJP led state administration for the injustice dine to Kannadigas of coastal district.
 
BJP led state administration has failed in maintaining law and order situation in the district and coastal region of Karnataka, besides utterly failing to provide basic amenities to common people. The innocent people have become victims of communal violence across the state and have been deprived of the basic right of liberty bestowed by Indian constitution, urged DCC leaders.
 
The state administration has not responded to the grievances of farming community, despite the rise in suicide cases. The areca planters are suffering losses owing to infest menace that eats away the new shoots of areca plantation. Also the market price of arecanut has also come down and the state has not taken immediate measures to announce the support price so far, DCC alleged.
 
The communal attacks on education institutions managed by minority communities and on churches are occurring very frequently across the state. The conflicts among the various castes are also order of the day which is not efficiently curbed by the state administration, stated DCC in the memorandum presented to Governor Bhardwaj.
 
DCC president and MLA Ramanath Rai, vice-president Ivan D’Souza, MLAs Abayachandra Jain and U T Khader, veteran Congress leader K S M Masood, former minister B A Moideen, youth Congress president Praveenchandra Alva and minority community unit president Mohideen Bava were present.
