Mangalore, Sep 25: The Indian Board of Alternative Medicines has conferred the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in alternative medicines (AM) on Dr Edward P D Lewis, for his thesis in 'deficiency of nutraceuticals in the human body and its treatment with alternative medicine'.
Dr Edward P D Lewis, son of the late Victor Lewis and the late Veronica Lewis, completed his initial education in the city. He completed his M Com degree from Mysore University and MBA from the Institute of Business Management and Research here.
He has lot of interest in alternative medicine and he completed his course of 'Doctor of Medicine in Alternative Medicine' from the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine in the year 2006.
Originally from Sastan in Udupi district, he is married to Ruby Lewis from Herikudru in Kundapur. They have two children - Angelita and Alister. Angelita is studying at Alva’s College of Naturopathy and Alister studies at Lourdes Central School, Bejai, Mangalore.
At present he is the chairman and managing director of Arogya Suraksha Agencies Pvt Ltd.
