Mangalore: KSHEMA Professor Lekha Pandit Wins International Award

Mangalore, Oct 16: Professor in the department of neurology and director of the advanced neurology research department, K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) in Deralakatte near here, Dr Lekha Pandit, has been chosen for the prestigious Jacqueline Du Pre award instituted by Multiple Sclerosis International.

This is the highest award in the world, being conferred on the scientists who undertake special study in multiple sclerosis, a crippling disease that turns the lives of its patients into a painful, arduous journey. Dr Lekha is the first from India to win this award. Under this award, she gets an opportunity to undertake research in multiple sclerosis, in any of the universities in the world of her choice, for six months.
