Mangalore, Oct 19: Under the joint aegis of the Pakshikere unit of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) and Rickshaw Owners and Drivers Union, a blood donation camp was organized at Pakshikere St Jude’s Shrine in the taluk, association with Fr Muller Hospital, Kankanady in the city, on Monday October 19.
Pakshikere Shrine priest, Fr Alban D’Souza, delivered benedictory address. Dhananjay P Shettigar encouraged and invited the young people to take part in the blood donation camps in large numbers.
Head of the Blood Bank, Fr Muller Hospital, Dr Crystal Moras, explained the importance of donating blood. Assistant priest, Fr Anil D’Souza, presented a memento to Dr Crystal Moras on the occasion. Parish council vice-president Louis D’Souza, ICYM local unit president Jackson Saldanha and Rickshaw Owners and Drivers Union vice-president, Sudhakar Shettigar, were present at the dais.
At the venue, the people were told about the usefulness of ‘108 emergency service ambulance’.
