Udupi: Applications Invited for Kemtoor Doddanna Shetty Memorial Tulu Drama Contest

Udupi, Oct 20: The city-based Tulu Koota has invited entries for the 'Kemtoor Doddanna Shetty Memorial Tulu Drama Contest' being organized by it every year, in the memory of the late Kemtoor Doddanna Shetty, who had served the theatre in an excellent manner.
The contest will be held during the last week of December this year, in the city. Tulu amateur drama troupes from any part of the country are eligible to enter the contest. A maximum of seven troupes will be selected for the contest. The winning team, runner up and the second runner up team will be given cash rewards of Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. In addition, those adjudged the best in categories like direction, music, stage designing, best actor and best actress will get first prizes in the form of cash rewards of Rs 1,000 each, while second and third prizes in these categories will also be given.

The Tulu amateur drama troupes interested in taking part in this contest, have to contact Santosh Shetty Hiriyadka, 'Samanvaya', Fifth Main Road, Second Cross, Vibhudapriya Nagar, Udupi - 2 (Mobile No: 9845632396) to get printed entry forms and to know about rules and regulations of the contest. November 15 will be the last date for the receipt of the completed entry forms. The competing teams will be provided with partial travel allowance and food, said Udupi Tulukoota president, Dr Bhaskaranand Kumar, through a release.
