LPG rate witnesses Rs 150 price hike across metro cities from Feb 12

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (SHP)

New Delhi, Feb 12: LPG cylinder prices have been sharply hiked and the new rates would be applicable from February 12. The prices were hiked by the state-run oil marketing companies for non-subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders across metro cities. The sharp price hike has come as a surprise because the LPG cylinder prices had not increased since January 1, 2020.

According to a report with ANI, in Delhi, the price rose by Rs 144.50 to Rs 858.50, since its last revision on January 1, 2020.

In Kolkata, the LPG cylinder price is now at Rs 896.00, up by Rs 149. The price of the 14 kg Indane gas in Mumbai is at Rs 829.50, up by Rs 145. In Chennai on the other hand, the price is at Rs 881.00, which is an increase of Rs 147. The Indane gas delivers cylinders to over 11 crore households. Reportedly the company supplies around 30 lac Indane cylinders every day at the doorsteps of houses across India.

Fuel retailers revise the prices of LPG cylinders every month. Fuel retailers sell LPG cylinders at the market price but the government subsidises 12 cylinders each household per year by providing direct subsidy.

General rule of thumb states that when international rates move up, the government provides a higher subsidy and when they come down, the subsidy is cut.

Now, with the rise in market price or non-subsidised LPG price, the tax incidence on subsidised cooking fuel has also increased, leading to the current price hike

LPG price hiked by a steep Rs 144.5 per cylinder Rs 858.

The government subsidy payout to domestic users has been also increased sharply from Rs 153.86 per cylinder to Rs 291.48.

Thus a Subsidised Cylinder cost Rs 567 which means prices remain unchanged

What 150? Even if price is increased to 1,500/ cylinder we are willing to sacrifice for Modi who works 24 hrs/day. We will ensure the 5 trillion economy will be ensured by this year end.

    Climax of Ache Din.....
Thanks to people like Kejriwal of AAP, at least some people are able to differentiate between the politics of development and the divisive politics played out by the others.....
Of course it might still take a while for the uneducated Bhakts to see the Truth...
Just the other day our online facility to book LPG was blocked. On inquiry with the agent, we were told that we needed to book an additional cylinder, costing along with gas and other taxes an whopping Rs. 2612/-. Further we were told that it was a Government Order. As we know, Indian Oil Corporation, which supplies LPG is a central government undertaking with 57% stakes. India seems to have a total of 24.9 crore active customers. So if all had to pay the amount as we paid, you can imagine the amount this Public company would have collected at one go. So imagine the amount they collect and what we get back as the ultimate owners of the resources of the nation. How long will be taken for a ride by our Governments. I may be booked as an anti national for raising the issue!!!!
    Anyway Ache din are coming........
