COVID-19 patient may have infected hundreds on his way to Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Mar 10 (IANS): One case of a resident of Bengaluru, who travelled from USA to India, has been found to be positive for coronavirus on Monday and his long travel history only shows that hundreds may have been infected on the way.

The Bengaluru resident was found to be positive which was confirmed by the Department of Health and Public Service, Bengaluru.

The coronavirus-infected persons while travelling from one continent to the other seem to be transmitting the virus to hundreds of other people.

Consider the case of the patient found in Bengaluru and his travel path that cuts across several countries. On February 28, the patient went from Austin to New York in the US. The next day, February 29, the patient went from New York to Dubai.

From there, the patient landed in Bengaluru on March 1 but it was only three days later on March 4, that the patient started displaying symptoms. On March 5, he was admitted to a private hospital and on March 9, the medical reports confirmed COVID-19 infection.

Similar cases are being reported all over of infected coronavirus patients with a long travel history before the symptoms show up.

In the case of a patient in Delhi, the Health Ministry had to carry out a trace check of 66 persons who may possibly have come in contact with the infected person while in the case of a patient in Telangana, it was much higher at 88 trace points.

One doc in Wuhan who treated 8 patients, all of whom died as early as Dec, had warned his colleagues and family members of the sudden eruption of an ARDS like virus, but the authorities took him to task and warned him not to spread the news! If at all the authorities then had taken quick action and quarantined that spot then this pandemic could have been curtailed; he recently died from the same, and now is considered a hero in China!!

First case reported in mid January, and now around 2 months..
If all the flights were shutdown 2 months backs.. damage would have been very minimum.. WHO and governments across this world didn't do that... Instead problems allowed to grow ..

All the flights were shutdown? Really? For how long? You think it is so simple?
We all know that Covid 19 is spreading day by day, but we cannot blame anyone for that. authorities are trying their best possible way to prevent, let’s accept the reality and be alert by practicing preventive measures.

Raj- atleast gradual shutdown should happen.. if not complete shutdown.. non essential travel should stop.. and everyone should quarantine..

China controlled this disease by complete shutdown.. now reporting very less cases.. you may disagree but there is no seriousness within us.. that i agree..
