New Delhi, Mar 14: The sit-in protest at Delhi's Shaheen Bagh is being continued despite coronavirus scare. The protest has been in progress the past three months demanding that the government accept their demand to withdraw the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The government has been advising people to avoid large gatherings and crowded places. Schools, colleges, cinemas have been closed and events are being postponed. In the middle of this, the Shaheen Bagh protest has become a big concern.

Protesters including women believe that the biggest problems can be solved by reading the Quran from the heart. It seems like coronavirus has not been able move the indomitable spirit of the Shaheen Bagh women. They say they weren't scared of the biting cold or rain so they have no fear of coronavirus or any other disease.

The world is battling with coronavirus pandemic. Thousands of people have died because of the Covid-19 virus around the world, the majority of deaths being from China, Italy and Iran.

But the virus has now reached India as well. Even here, the number of cases is rising every day. Two people have died in India- one from Karnataka and one from Delhi. From the Centre to state governments, all authorities are on high alert.

People have been asked to not take part in the demonstration if they are sick. Several precautions are being taken at the site and awareness about symptoms of coronavirus and measures to avoid it are being spread. Protesters have been also been requested to not bring along children.

Many protesters, say the NRC and NPR are bigger concerns for them than coronavirus.
