Mangalore, Dec 1:
United Christian Association (UCA), an association of enlightened laity of Mangalore diocese, launched www.unitedchristian.in during a function held at Carmel Hall, Bikarnakatte, on Sunday November 29.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel John Serrao launched the website and ushered UCA into a new era.

Lt Col Serrao, in his inaugural address, stressed the need for UCA to empower educationally deprived community brethren to work for human rights, to lead the community in various religious issues, and to promote communal harmony.

A leadership training programme was also held on the occasion.  Ajith D’Souza, dean of Milagres College, Kallianpur, and Renita D’Souza were the resource persons.

Over 100 parishioners from all over the diocese participated in the training programme.

Alban Menezes welcomed the gathering.  Jeevan Vaz and Rony Crasta compered the programme.
