Bangalore: Council Election - Operation Kamala in Bidar

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Dec 1: As expected, the BJP, which was waiting patiently in the sidelines to fish for disgruntled leaders of other parties in the council election, has lapped up the opportunity in Bidar, as soon its leaders came to know that former Congress minister and present MLC, Basavaraj Patil Humnabad, was denied a ticket by the Congress. He will now fight the legislative council election on a BJP ticket.

Basavaraj’s son, Rajshekhar, is a Congress MLA from Humnabad in Bidar district. The Congress Party, in an attempt to satisfy various leaders who were waiting in the wings for long, had decided against issuing tickets again to several of its sitting MLCs. Basavaraj Patil was hoping that he would be allotted a ticket again, like some others. He had turned angry as his efforts to get ‘B’ form from the Congress came to nought.

He was invited to the city by the BJP top brass, and was accorded a warm welcome. It would be interesting to see whether this operation will benefit the BJP as before.
