Udupi: More IITs to be Given Grants - Acharya

Udupi, Dec 1: Speaking at the inaugural of the silver jubilee function of St Mary's Industrial Training Institute at Chitpady here on Monday November 30, state home minister, Dr V S Acharya, said that at present, grants are being given to 146 industrial training institutes in the state. The government is considering a proposal to extend grants to 108 new institutes on the basis of their seniority and eligibility, he explained.



Fr Wilson Witus D'Souza, secretary of Catholic Education Board, Mangalore, inaugurated the function.

MLA K Raghupati Bhat, Builders Association district president, Jerry Vincent Dias, principal of the district government industrial training institute, Jagadish, municipal councillor, Gita Ravi Shet and Arvin Alva were present.

Principal, Gilbert Braganza, presented the report. Priest of Mother of Sorrows Church, Fr Mathew Vas, welcomed.
