The Kerala CM should now concentrate in upgrading medical infrastructure in his state, doing so will certainly end tension between these two states in south India....

How Kasaragod is overcoming the pandemic is the result of stellar leadership of Com. Vijayan. Remember on 11th March WHO declared COVID as pandemic and 12th March, COVID claimed the first victim in Kalburgi. On this day, if you read the news from the Central Govt. archive, it is all about re-designing of Parliament annexe whereas Kerala was getting ready for overcoming the pandemic by ordering a partial lockdown, shutting schools, banning gatherings and advising people against visiting places of worship. Govt. got internet service providers boost capacity in Kerala to meet the probable work@home scenario internet demand. Asked all jail authorities to start producing masks and sanitisers. “Kudumbasree” was roped in for setting up of community kitchens to meet food demands of migrants.. GOK app launched to provide authentic news (Centre launched a similar app after one month), set up 24*7 help lines at all districts, provided mid day meals to school children at door step and free rations and food grains. Daily media briefings by CM and Health Minister took care of even the minute details. All these measures assuaged the fear and built trust among the people in the Government. Police rose up to the occasion with gentle, humane yet firm approach.

As regards Kasaragod, a top police official was posted and a containment strategy was immediately put in place. Police station-wise area mapping done in terms of Covid vulnerability. Red areas were completely cordoned off, essentials were door-delivered by the Policemen in these areas. Police used drones to track lockdown violations.. Within 4 days, part of yet-to-complete Kasaragod Medical College was converted into Covid hospital with 100 beds. Kasaragod specific app named “Kasaragod Suraksha” was launched.

This is called effective administration and visionary leadership. The entire world is praising and emulating Kerala model. Still, if some Bhakths wanted to criticise they are free to do so, time will tell who was right.

    Naresh, Kerala

Sir, Thanks for sharing the success story. I would also like to request Kerala government to share the success behind the COVID-19 patient treatment that can save many more lives in around the world.

Perhaps India is the only country were fellow Indians are ignored in crisis. In Bangladesh everybody greet them 'Desi' . In Philippines address each other with 'Kabayan'. Only in India when you criticize the government for the policies you are considered 'Anti-National'.

My advice for Keralaites it is now time to think about medical infrastructure to invest to lesser dependency on neighboring states.

When the rest of India lock down is extended, the normalcy returning to Kasargod is quiet optimistic.
Despite receiving the first cases and prompt state and district administration action is highly appreciable.

In India after Kasargod, Ladakh and “Bhilwara model” in the Rajasthani region is considered to have adopted the most successful strategy to deal with the corona-virus outbreak in a hotpots.

Due to the inherent danger in highlighting Bhilwara and Kasargod model is that central governments may use it as an excuse to impose clampdowns across the entire country?

It is time to learn the experience of the success even when superpowers around the world are struggling to cope.
If Kerala did it, we bordering the state still blame the others.

We should forget our political and religious differences and fight unitedly. United we stand and divided we fall. Jai Hind. God bless India.

@Swati - Stop spreading hatred and fake news.

If they had to hide facts, they would have done it from the beginning. They did not shy away from showing the numbers from day 1. Kerala has the highest test percentage in India and is upto WHO norms.

They have been able to tackle the situation due to hardwork and co-ordination. Thier Media has acted responsibly and have not given communal angle to the news to divert people's attention. Please don't spread hatred.

Chandumaam, my post wrt Kasargod has no connection with the situation in Mumbai, please do not divert the topic by posting irrelevant comments!
Since you broached about Mumbai; FYI, Mumbai has the highest population density for any city in the world; 1.1 lacs/sq km on average, 2.2 lacs in slum pockets; any other city would have collapsed by now; Mumbai has gotten up from rock bottom from a number of horrific catastrophes earlier, its people & administration has the grit to face this crisis & drive CORONA out soon!
