Mumbai, Apr 23: Maharashtra currently has the most number of COVID-19 cases in the age group of 21-30 in the country. 1,022 patients fall into this age bracket, among which, 8 have succumbed to the virus.

The second most number of patients fall in the 31-40 age group, with 968 positive cases. The reasons for the most number of positive cases falling in these age groups could be the increased mobility among them as compared to other age groups, as well as more social contacts, said a health department official.

Unless the patients have other medical ailments or complications, their recovery is easy. Especially for the younger patients, commented Rajesh Tope, the Health Minister. He further added that a large number of people are undergoing recovery well.

Further information by the government suggested that the number of patients in the 11-20 age group is 399; in the 41-50 age group is 833; in the 51-60 age group is 689; 386 cases in the 61-70 age group; 143 in the 71-80 age group and 36 in the 81-90 age group. There was only one case in the 101-110 age group, who did not survive.
