Mumbai Police grill Arnab Goswami for over 12 hrs

Mumbai, Apr 27 (IANS): Republic Media Network on Monday said that its Editor-in-Chief, Arnab Goswami, was interrogated by the Mumbai Police since 9 a.m. and the interrogation continued for over 12 hours, here on Monday.

In a statement, the channel said that "he is cooperating with the investigators."

The network also expressed its "deep disappointment" that despite Goswami's requests, two Congressmen -- who allegedly attacked him and his wife Samyabrata Ray, an Editor with Republic TV -- were released on a bail of Rs 15,000 by a Mumbai court.

It termed the attack on Goswami as "a pre-planned Congress conspiracy" and alleged that "the police have flatly refused to register either a case of assault or conspiracy".

The channel asked the Mumbai Police not to "do such a brazen cover-up".

Goswami was summoned by the Mumbai Police on Sunday for questioning on his comments on top Congress leaders in connection with the lynching of three persons -- including two Sadhus -- in Maharashtra's Palghar district on April 16.

    Thackeray has given a response to Arnab. Arnab was attacking Thackeray with his accusations against Sonia Gandhi. Arnab was implying Sonia not Thackeray was running Maharashtra. Arnab was parroting the BJP nonsense that Hindus are not safe in Maharashtra under Thackeray and Shiv Sena.

    The Nation still wants to know ...
    1.How come 2 monks were lynched in the middle of the night despite a
    strict lock down at Palghar ? We all saw the Monks led to their death by nearly 12cops ! What has come of it ? Was the lynching pre planned ?
    2.How come 2goons carried out an attack on selected journalists in Mumbai despite strict checks and lock down ?
    3) How were the goons left out on bail without enquiry and the journalist attacked grilled for 12hours on some valid questions he raised ?
    4) After all this where has it left the Mumbai Police and it's credibility ?

    Next India wanted to know how did Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV Rs 1,000 investors? How did only channel in India in such short period does make such huge profit and doesn't have balance sheet to produce.
