Mangalore, Jan 2: As part of the St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) MBA special lecture series, Austin D'Souza Prabhu, past district governor of Lions Clubs International, Chicago, delivered a lecture on leadership to the MBA students at the college campus on Friday January 1.

Prabhu began his lecture with the punch line ‘Nothing is impossible’. He cited examples of his personal life to stress upon the 5-S's (sort, separate, shine, standardize, and sustain) of quality to inculcate discipline professionally and personally.

He stated the focal need to form a team of individuals of similar interests to share ideas and knowledge and to forge a path amidst hurdles for the upliftment of the community.

Prabhu advised the students to aim for the stars so that they will at least reach the rainbow.

Dr Joseph Gonsalves, principal of SJEC, and Fr Valerian D'Souza, director, SJEC, addressed the gathering and conveyed New Year greetings.

H R Alva, proprietor of Maria Advertisers, and Prof Godfrey Pinto, personnel manager of SJEC, were the other dignitaries present on the occasion.

Dr Prakash Pinto, dean-MBA, introduced Prabhu and welcomed the gathering. Lavina Sequeira, senior lecturer, proposed the vote of thanks.

After the special lecture, Prabhu interacted with the faculty members of the department of business administration.
