Mangalore: Decennial Celebrations of ABCEA Held

Mangalore, Jan 28: The decennial celebrations of city based All Banks’ Christian Employees Association (ABCEA) was held at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee auditorium, Bendore, here on Tuesday January 26.

Chief guest, notary and Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) vice-president Ivan D’Souza, guest of honour Kollangana parish priest Fr Vincent D’Souza, ABCEA president Audy Rego, general secretary Marcel D’Souza and vic- president Jerome Moras inaugurated the decennial celebrations.
 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Ivan D’Souza said that ABCEA is a unique organization open for bank employees of various Christian denominations. He added that the commitment of ABCEA to the society at large is commendable especially in educating the poor and other welfare activities. 
 
Fr Vincent D’Souza acknowledged ABCEA for their significant contribution to his parish school, thereby enabled many a poor students to continue their studies and is steadily improving in grades.

ABCEA president Audy Rego welcomed the gathering. Joint secretary Charlotte Serrao proposed the vote of thanks.  Executive committee member Sharon Tellis compered the programme. Variety cultural programmes by the children of members were held .Claude D’Souza and musicians entertained the audience.ABCEA newsletter was released on the occasion.

Audy Rego ABCEA treasurer Delphine Pais, general secretary Marcel D’Souza, vice president and Dorothy Rodrigues among others were present.

A thanks-giving Holy Mass was held prior to the stage programme at St Sebastian parish, Bedore, offered by Fr Ronnie Prabhu SJ, along with Bendore assistant parish priest Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Fr Ben Britto and Kollangana St Thomas the Apostle Parish priest Fr Vincent D’Souza.

ABCEA was set up on August 22 2001 in the city, with the intention to unite all Christian bank employees working in public, / private sector and co-operative banks, under one banner.  It aims to serve the community and society at large through various community service activities and welfare measures.  

ABCEA is a social, cultural and voluntary organization, with the objective of working for the betterment of mankind, in order to pay back to the community and society at large through humanitarian deeds.
