Beltangady, Feb 22: Minister for food and civil supplies Harathal Halappa said that CM B S Yeddyurappa will inaugurate Shatakoti Ramanama Taraka Mantra Lekana Yajna to be held to mark 50th anniversary of Sriramanama Taraka Saptaha at the Kanyadi Srirama Kshetra on March 14.
 
He was speaking to reporters after the consultative meeting at Kanyadi Srirama Kshetra on Sunday February 21. Dharmadhikari of Dharmastala D Veerendra Heggade will preside, he added. District in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar and Rajyasabha member B K Hariprasad among others will be the chief guests”, he added.

State Industries Board president Shivanand Nayak said that Sri Atmananda Saraswati Swamiji’s statue will be also be installed on the occasion.

MLA Vasanth Bangera said that stage programme has been palnned in Kanyadi School and almost 25,000 people are expected to attend.

No Bank A/C Needed for BPL Ration Card Holders

Addressing the reporters, minister Halappa said that the people who come under Below Poverty Level (BPL) category need not compulsorily have an account in the bank to obtain ration cards.

He also informed that a back office has been opened in the district to solve any problems associated with BPL ration cards.
