Mumbai: Raju Shetty Vasai passes away

Mumbai, Sep 17: Raju C Shetty Vasai (81), popularly known as Lucky Rajanna, proprietor of Vasai’s Hotel Akshaya passed away after a brief illness at Kokilaben Hospital, here, on Wednesday. He hailed from Moodbidri and was the son of Moodbidri Alangar residents Chandu Shetty and Veeramma Shetty.

He had married Laksmi R Shetty, who was a yoga teacher, generous donor, former honorary chief secretary and vice president of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha, executive president of Bantara Sangha Mumbai Vasai regional committee and was active in Veerakesari Kalavrinda and several local organizations. The couple had recently celebrated the golden jubilee of their wedding.

Raju Shetty has left behind his wife, two daughters, a son, friends and relatives. Several elite people, office bearers and members of local organizations condoled his death.
