Mangalore, Apr 25: The inauguration and blessing of women’s hostel, Pompei College, Aikala near Kinnigoli here was held on Saturday Apr 24. 

The hostel building was inaugurated by Fr Charles Noronha, the former correspondent and blessed by Fr Paul Pinto, the correspondent of Pompei institutions. The hostel is constructed under the UGC grants, X plan. 

Fr.Valerian Mendonca, former principal of the college and director of Sandesha and Fr Alfred Pinto, vicar vara of Kinnigoli deanary presided. 

The college has also been re-accreditated by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with ‘A' Grade securing CGPA 3.04 marks in the grading scale of the  NAAC. The hostel as a new block was added to the infrastructure of the college. 

Pompei College was founded by the great visionary late Fr Bernard .D'Souza and it caters to the educational needs of the local students.
