Beltangady: 260 Couples to Wed at Dharmasthala Mass Marriage on Apr 30

Beltangady, Apr 29: 260 pairs will enter wedlock at the holy town of Dharmasthala on Friday April 30 evening on the auspicious ‘Godhooli Lagnam’, at the annual mass marriage function being organized under the aegis of Dharmasthala temple.

The idea of conducting mass marriages free of cost was implemented in Dharmasthala by Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade in 1972. Under this programme, till last year, 10,698 couples have started their own families.

Srivatsa Raj Nahar, managing director of Birla Corporation Ltd Kolkota, Vijaya Nahar, Neeraj Jain, a well-known scholar from Satna, local MLA, K Vasant Bangera, and chairman of M S Ramaiah Group of  Educational Institutions, M S Jayaram, will participate in the function as guests.
