Mangalore, Apr 30: The annual taluk level Kannada Sahitya Sammelan is being held at the Town Hall in the city on Friday April 30. For the Sammelan, the surroundings of the Town Hall have been transformed to look like a village.
Veteran writer, Bola Chittaranjandas Shetty will preside over the Sammelan, while another well-known litterateur, Prof Sa Shi Marulaiah, will inaugurate it.
District in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs, Yogish Bhat, Abhaychandra Jain, U T Khader etc., will participate.
After the inaugural of the Sammelan, two sessions will be held. The valedictory function will be organized in the evening. Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, V Ponnurj, is scheduled to felicitate 14 achievers on the occasion. At night, various cultural programmes will be presented.
