Bengaluru: Educationists, organisation representatives seek school opening by December 15

Bengaluru, Dec 9: Educationists and representatives of various organisations have written to state education minister S Suresh Kumar, urging him to reopen classes right from pre-primary to second PU before December 15.

They said that if the classes begin by December 15, 180 days of the current academic year will be available till the middle of June next year and it would be possible to teach all the lessons. Adjustments can be made at local level if required. Therefore, they have suggested to hold the current academic year till June 15 and start the next academic year from July next year.

They said that online education has not been of any benefit for most of the students and it is causing different problems. Therefore they have demanded for the scrapping of online classes at all levels.

The guidelines created by the corona workforce for the reopening of colleges are unscientific and it is not right that everyone should undergo tests. They also said that if the advisory committee recommends corona tests at the time of school opening, the same should be ignored.

    What is guarantee of health for parents and grandparents of student . Its required this year. my suggestion to make zero year. Education origination do not think to make money think about student health and their family. Stop Lobby of such things.

    In central Parliament postpone till February, in Karnataka Assembly started and wind up with in 4 days because of poor attendance. Then why hurry to start schools???. If less students means again difficult to conduct classes. In Temples functions are going on, marriages are conducting with minimum invitees, ( in buses no one flowing rules). Now few parents allow their children to go school same problems. Or Government must withdraw all ritrictions regarding Covid19, and announce free movement to everyone. Then only Corona virus we can face.

    Actually the central government must have allowed all the states for starting of the Schools from 9th Std till Degree & PG &higher levels from 1st of October 2020 itself.
    Except for the IT/ Computer Science & Information Science students studying in Degree/PG & higher levels, the online classes would have actually not benefited at all if at all the main objective of our Indian school education system is to enhance the student’s ability to exhibit their talent in both the curricular and co curricular activities
    It’s already too late..Better start the schools from 15th Dec 2020 as opined by the educationists, as it is a waste in fearing for COVID-19 anymore as most of the deaths were mainly those who had co-morbidity due to family heredity or personal life style reasons
    Because of the wrong advise by so called experts in the Union govt & in few states like Karnataka, Kerala etc Govt had still not removed entire restrictions
    Its high-time the central govt must devise & implement such programs in TV&other communication channels/ media to instill confidence to the citizens of this country help revive the economy
    Overall personally I appreciate this & hope all the state govts will prevail on the central govt to lift the entire restrictions imposed in the name of COVID 19 without anymore delay& allow all the regular activities besides withdrawing the “Work from Home” norms immediately for the people as it will help the employees in maintaining their good health & contribute to boost the economy
    Till August, central govt was not keen to provide moratorium on interest paid by the lower middle class for their various Loans, but the central govt could have easily enacted an ordinance in ensuring the payment of only 50% salary to the Govt employees of all the states & central govt for about 5 months from March till August as they already are handsomely paid & their expenses were reduced.

    Thymus gland in children produces T cells which can kill Corona virus.Schools should not have been closed in the first place.Some children can have comorbdities and they could have been given books to learn at home with tele guidance.Kawasaki like Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome can occur in children but it is rare and can be treated. The career of children and economy are the worst hit because of lockdown.India did not require it.

    But these children if infected can be asymptomatic carriers of the virus and in turn infect comorbid family members which can spell disaster. Let us not look only one side of things.
