Bengaluru: Karnataka launches affidavit based clearance system for industries, businesses

Bengaluru, Dec 21: Karnataka became one of the few states in the country to unveil a radical reform in granting affidavit with a based clearance system for industries and business enterprises.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who launched the new system in Vidhana Soudha on Monday, termed the measure in the Facilitation Act as 'historic'.

"Karnataka is a forerunner state when it comes to providing an investor-friendly ecosystem for the business community and various stakeholders," he said.



In terms of business reforms, the chief minister mentioned that the state has taken various historic steps to improve the business climate for various stakeholders. These reforms include land reforms, labour reforms, auto-renewal of various licences/clearances and central inspection system.

"The amendment to Facilitation Act is a milestone which would enable investors to establish his/her business without any clearances/approvals from various departments for the first three years," he said.

The chief minister declared: "We are committed to the development of the state-of-the-art business ecosystem in the state, and we have been taking several measures to ensure the state's commitment to providing ease in doing business in the state of Karnataka."

"I have no doubt that with the help and support of investors and industry representatives, we will achieve our goal of inclusive and sustainable growth for Karnataka," Yediyurappa added.

Deputy chief minister Dr C N Ashwat Narayan, industries minister Jagadish Shettar, agriculture minister B C Patil, chief secretary T M Vijaya Bhaskar and others were present.
