Udupi, Jun 1: Thieves decamped with cash kept in the drawer of a bar at Padubidri, near here, on the night of Sunday May 30, after entering the premises by bending the iron rods of a window.
The theft occurred at Down Town Bar located at Amar Comforts in Padubidri. The theft came to light when the employees of the bar arrived on the morning of Monday May 31.
The stolen cash amounted to Rs 65,000 and was kept in a drawer as the bar had brisk business on Sunday night.
Deputy superintendent Santhosh Kumar and sub-inspector Cheluvaraj visited the spot along with fingerprint experts and further investigations are underway.
