M'lore: Workshop on `Konkani Methodology of Teaching' Held at World Konkani Centre

Mangalore, Jun 1: A workshop for planning of design and implementing the project activities for developing a draft syllabus and Resource material for Konkani methodology of teaching to be introduced into diploma in education course of Karnataka state was held at World Konkani Centre on 30th May 2010.



Shivaprakash, Dy. Programme Co-Ordinator, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Mangalore, inaugurated the workshop. Eminent Educationists and representatives from Education Institutions participated in the workshop. President of Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation,  Basti Vaman Shenoy welcomed the participants and reiterated Foundation’s goal of taking Konkani Language in to all levels of Education System from K.G. to Post Graduation. Project Director Dr. Devadas Pai presented the proposal before the participants and sought opinion. The Project was approved unanimously after detailed discussion on various aspects thus paving a road map for entering the Konkani Language as a subject in D.Ed syllabus of Karnataka State.

A series of workshops involving language experts, educationists and Education Department and other such government agencies for preparing  resource material for Konkani Methodology of Teaching will be held during the next four months and the project would be submitted for inclusion to the government of Karnataka.
