Mangalore, Jun 3: Heavy rains coupled with speeding wind and lightning was experienced in Subrahmanya and surrounding areas on Wednesday June 2 evening. On Wednesday night, places like Udupi, Manipal and a few other places were drenched in rain.

Although the skies remained overcast fore most part of Wednesday, almost all other places remained dry. High levels of humidity and heat have made the people to expectantly await the arrival of the monsoon season. The farmers also need rain to be able to plant their paddy seedlings.
