Bangalore, Jun 5: It is learnt that the bullet that injured one of the followers of Sri Sri Ravishankar, founder of the internationally popular Art of Living Foundation, which is working to provide a healing touch through spiritual guidance, was one among the three fired by a farmer living nearby at the time. The policemen claim that on May 30, the farmer, having a 10-acre land adjacent to the Ashram of the Guru, had fired three rounds from his licensed 0.32 pistol, to scare away dogs. Reportedly, the farmer follows the practice of firing gunshots to scare away animals which sneak into his farmland, as the canines have a history of wounding his cattle.

The wayward bullet had caused minor injury in the thigh of a software engineer named Vinay K, a follower of Sri Sri. Although initially the policemen tried to brand the shooting as a minor incident not aimed at Sri Sri Ravishankar or his followers, the Guru had steadfastly demanded for a proper investigation. Some reports also had put the blame on group clashes within the campus of Art of Living Foundation.

The police investigations conducted through the forensic science laboratory here has proved that the bullets were fired by the pistol of the farmer concerned, the policemen said.
