Udupi: DCIB Sleuths Nab Six Persons Accused of Smuggling Musk

Udupi, Jun 6: The District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) sleuths nabbed six persons accused of smuggling two mounds of musk and head portion of an ancient idol of Goddess Devi which was made out of five metals and worth a few lac of rupees in international markets, here on Saturday June 5 evening.  

The arrested have been identified as driver twenty-four year old Rohan, thirty-five year old Venkatesh, thirty-six year old Sanjay Aithal, twenty-four year old Austin, fifty-four year old Bhakta Vatsala and Fifty-two year old Devaraj. DCIB sleuths headed by sub-inspector Ganesh Hegde stopped a Maruti Wagon R, in front of a tourist hotel, here on Saturday evening and arrested six persons. All the mobile phones along with the car was seized. 

A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code and also Wild Life Conservation Act. Further investigations on the case are under way.
