Udupi: Lorry Injures Pedestrian, Hits Wall of House

Udupi, Jun 7: In an incident that occurred at Malpe on the night of Saturday June 5, a lorry injured a pedestrian and then hit the wall of a house, after knocking down its compound wall. The loss in this incident is put at Rs 15 lac.

It is said that reckless driving on the part of the truck driver caused the accident. The vehicle at first, hit a pedestrian named Janardan Kundar (33) from Kalmadi village. It then demolished the compound wall of a house belonging to Dinakar on V B Road in Kodavoor, before coming to a halt after hitting the wall of his house.

In a complaint, Dinakar said that he has suffered a loss of Rs 15 lac in the form of extensive damages to the wall of his home and also due to the demolition of the compound wall. Injured Janardan is being treated din a private hospital here.

A complaint was registered at Malpe police station. Investigations are on.
