Bagalkot, Jan 8: Former minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president, Satish Jarkiholi, confessed that there was tussle between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah to become the chief minister. He said that even himself and a few leaders are also in the race for this post.

Jarkiholi said that it is the aim of the party to bring the party back to power in the next election. "With the victory of the party in mind, we will carry on with our campaign, strengthen our organization and fight to achieve our goal," he added.

In reply to a query by the media persons he said he cannot say for sure whether Yediyurappa will complete his full term as the chief minister or not. "ST category candidates should get 7.5 percent reservation in jobs. This is our right and no political gimmick should be conducted on this issue. Sriramulu has declared that he will resign as minister if his community does not get reservation benefit. However, resignations do not solve any problems," Jarkiholi pointed out.
