Moodbidri, Jun 10: The body of Arthur Hubert Tellis (39), an ex-serviceman and native of Taccode near here, was found lying in a flat owned by him here on Wednesday June 9 night.

One of the relatives of Tellis had been calling Tellis over phone since the last couple of days. As Tellis did not receive the calls, he grew apprehensive, and contacted the Moodbidri policemen on Wednesday evening. Based on this complaint, assistant sub-inspector, Rakshit, and other policemen entered the flat by breaking open its door, and found the naked body of Tellis lying on the floor of the bedroom. As a bottle of poison was found in the kitchen of the flat, the policemen suspect that the former soldier had committed suicide.

It is learnt that Tellis had served the army for 16 years, during which period, he also took part in the Kargil war. After obtaining voluntary retirement from the army, he worked in Abu Dhabi for some time. Recently, he came back and started living alone in his flat here, as allegedly, there was discord between the couple, following which, his wife and children had started living separately.
