Mangaluru, Jan 9: "Punarprathista Brahmakalashotsava at Sri Kshetra Kemmale will be held from January 16 to 18 at Hemala, Yenmur,” said Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Saturday January 9.

Addressing a press meet on the premises of Kankanady Garodi temple, MP Shobha, who is also honorary president of Brahmakalashotsava committee said, " Sri Kshetra Kemmale is sacred abode of 'Nagabrahma'. This temple dates back to 500 to 600 years ago. Kemmale Nagabramha is also 'Kuladaiva' of Koti-Chennayya and their community. Nagabramha is being worshipped in all 260 Garodis of Koti-Chennayya. The temple is situated amidst the forest. As the temple was in a dilapidated state, the villagers and people from the community came forward to re-build the temple.

“As the renovation work of the temple is completed, Punarprathista Brahmakalashotsava of Kemmale Nagabramha, and its 'Mula Stana', 'Ullalakulu' and 'Parivara Daivas' will be held from January 16 to 18 at Sri Kshetra Kemmale.

“The construction work of the temple started two to three years ago with a cost of Rs 1.74 crores. B S Yediyurappa from Chief Minister's Relief Fund donated Rs 45 lac, and district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and MLC Bharathi Shetty have given Rs 5 lac each from their funds. As the temple is situated in the center of the forest and there was no proper road connectivity, Rs 80 lac have been spent on the construction of road. The temple has been provided with all the basic facilities,” she said.

She also said that the programme at Kemmale will be held strictly adhering to Covid-19 guidelines.

She also said that MLA Angara is the working president of Brahmakalashotsava Committee.

On a query over the naming Mangaluru International Airport after Koti-Chennayya, she said, "After collecting opinion from the public domain and local representatives, we will bring the proposal before the state cabinet. From the state, the proposal will be moved to the union government. The union government will then take necessary measures after consulting the concerned departments.

"District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has taken responsibility in this regard and a proposal is in the process," she said.

    Where is municipality which fined Valencia hall for Rs. 5,000.00 for not following covid guidelines like masks and social distancing. Here most of them without masks. Forget about social distancing. So fines only for common man and not for these scoundrels.
