BSES discoms Pay Rs 400 crore to APCPL


New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS): BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) have resolved the matter with Aravali Power Corporation Private Limited (APCPL) and have paid Rs 352.27 crore and Rs 47.34 crore, respectively, as per the demand, A BSES spokesperson said on Monday.

The spokesperson added that discoms are committed to supply reliable and uninterrupted power to around 46 lakh consumers in Delhi.

BRPL and BYPL are power distribution companies and joint ventures between Reliance Infrastructure Limited and GoNCTD. They are the power distributors in Delhi.

On January 2, Aravali Power Company Limited (APCPL), a joint venture of NTPC, HPGCL and IPGCL, had issued notices to BRPL and BYPL towards the default in payment of dues of Rs 352.27 crore in the case of BRPL and Rs 47.34 crore in the case of BYPL.

The notice had directed the discoms to make the payment within 10 days of receiving the notice, failing which the APCPL had threatened to initiate a corporate insolvency resolution process against the discoms.
