Frisco, Nov 8: State Bank of India (California), a wholly-owned subsidiary of India's largest public sector lender, State Bank of India (SBI), has inaugurated a new branch in Frisco, Texas, marking its first physical expansion beyond California and strengthening its presence in the United States.
With the opening of the Frisco branch, SBI (California) now operates eight branches across the US. The inauguration ceremony was led by SBI Group Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, in the presence of Consul General of India in Houston DC Manjunath and Frisco Mayor Mark Hill.
Located in the rapidly developing North Dallas region, the new branch will offer a comprehensive range of retail and business banking services. These include personal and business deposit accounts, commercial lending facilities and international remittance services.

The branch is expected to cater to the banking requirements of individuals, working professionals, entrepreneurs and corporate organisations across North Texas, providing greater access to financial services in a region witnessing rapid economic and population growth.
Welcoming SBI's strategic expansion into Texas, Consul General DC Manjunath highlighted the importance of the new branch in strengthening India-US economic and commercial relations. He also emphasised its role in improving financial connectivity for the rapidly growing Indian diaspora in North Texas.
The expansion reflects SBI's continued efforts to strengthen its international banking operations and serve the growing financial requirements of Indian businesses, professionals and communities overseas.
Apart from the eight locations operated by its California subsidiary, SBI maintains a direct banking presence in the United States through full-service branches in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The bank also operates a representative office in Washington.
The opening of the Frisco branch is expected to further strengthen SBI's banking network in the US and support expanding commercial and financial links between India and the United States.
