Bengaluru: 'If blackmailed, Yediyurappa can be construed as weak' - Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru, Jan 15: "If some people have become ministers by showing CD and blackmailing the chief minister, it automatically means that he is weak. Moreover, becoming minister on the basis of blackmailing is a dangerous development. As the statement has come from the BJP legislator, it must be true. Therefore, case should be registered against those who made the CD, and probe headed by a judge should be ordered into the episode," the Congress party demanded.

Speaking at Mysuru, Siddaramaiah urged Yeddyurappa to show the courage to file criminal cases against those who blackmailed him. "Only those who are weak can be blackmailed. Why can't he file a case against such people? We want the truth to come out as his own party men are saying this," he stated. He also questioned why Munirathna was made a minister, knowing fully well that he cannot be given that post. "Vishwanath is now lamenting and making allegations of family politics. I had said in the past that the people are frustrated under this government, development works are not happening."

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president D K Shivakumar, asked the chief minister to own moral responsibility for the blackmail allegation and get the charge probed by a sitting high court judge. Addressing a press conference, he said people want to know how much bribe was paid by people who are now made ministers and what is in the CD which was used for the blackmail.
