Kasargod: Kannur Jail Break - Escapee Prisoner Nabbed

Kasargod, Jun 17: Jayanand, one of the two notorious criminals, who managed to escape from Kannur central jail on Sunday last, has been arrested. The two had broken a pipeline laid for supplying drinking water to the jail and used this pipe to scale the walls of the jail.

Jayanand and P H Riaz from Periyatadka, who were confined in a cell that is meant for terrorists, reportedly went to Coimbatore by train. They parted ways at Coimbatore, and met their respective lovers, Jayanand has told the policemen. Circle inspector of police, Sadanandan, said that the policemen have laid a net across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to arrest Riaz.

It is said that the two started using mobile phones of their lovers, to mislead the policemen. The policemen however, said that they got to know about this plan and could find out the whereabouts of Jayanand on the basis of the mobile phone used by him.
