Puttur: 14 Dengue Cases Detected in Taluk

Puttur, Jun 19: Sources in the health department have stated that dengue fever has been strengthening its foothold in the taluk since the last some weeks. So far, 14 persons have been diagnosed with dengue, they added.

At present, most of these cases have been reported from Kadaba and surrounding villages. Kadaba community hospital and other private clinics in the vicinity receive around 200 to 250 patients suffering from fever, on a daily basis. Several persons have got themselves admitted into private hospitals in Puttur. Even though the health department sources have pegged the number of dengue patients at 14, private practitioners claim that the figure has crossed 30.

Health officer, Dr Badruddin, said that the health department has been undertaking measures to contain the spread of this disease.
