K Srikanth takes charge as new DySP of Kundapur subdivision

Kundapur, Jan 27: K Srikanth has taken over charge as new DySP of Kundapur subdivision. He was transferred to Kundapur from his service as DySP in ACB Karwar.

The new DySP maintained that the law and order system should be strengthened, criminal activities should be curtailed, importance should be given to the safety of women and children, while the beat system is already implemented. He also called for a people-friendly system in the administration which can be strengthened with the cooperation of people.

He hails from Karkala and began his career as a teacher in a government school at Hassan before joining the police force. He began his service in the police department in 1998 by being a probationary officer in K R Nagar, Mysuru. He later served as PSI in Somwarpet and Holenarasipura. He got promoted as circle inspector and worked as an inspector in Mescom vigilance in Sakleshpur, Puttur, Kumta, Udupi city and Brahmavar. He was later promoted as DySP in ACB, Karwar.

Being an expert in cracking criminal cases, Srikanth has received the chief minister’s gold medal in 2012 for cracking a bank dacoit case. He was also ahead in solving complex cases in Udupi when he was serving in the coastal region.
