Bantwal, Feb 15: Trash will be collected in vehicles from houses. The problems will be solved and facilities will be implemented in stages, said Bantwal municipal council president Mohammed Sharif. He was speaking at the preliminary budget meeting of local groups and associations on Monday. "People will have to pay taxes even if they throw trash everywhere. Therefore, it can be handed over to vehicles that come to collect it," he said.

Responding to complaints that some vehicles do not come to their areas, he said that the number of vehicles to collect trash have increased. "Awareness to that effect will be created. The cooperation of people is essential."

Problems such as hindrance to pedestrians by vegetable vendors, lack of parking facilities, installation of cameras at narrow places, need for a bus stand at Melkar and leakage of water from public pipelines were discussed.

Chief council officer Lena Britto said that the problems will be attended to on priority. Vice president Jacinta D’Souza, engineer Dominic D’Mello, manager Leelavati, staff Razak, Sunny Wilson Lobo, public representatives Vasanti Gangadhar, Damodar Sanchayagiri, Shivashanker Kaikunje, Mahabaleshwar Hebbar, Narayana Naik and others gave suitable suggestions.
