Udupi: Rajesh Shetty elected new president of district working journalists association

Udupi, Feb 17: Rajesh Shetty Alevoor has been elected unopposed president of Udupi District Working Journalists Association for the term 2021-23.

The elections were held during the general body meeting held at IMA Bhavan, Ajjarkad on February 16.

Nazeer Polya is elected as chief secretary, R B Jagadeesh, Vinay Pais and Balakrishna Poojary as vice-presidents, Umesh Marpalli as treasurer, Rajesh Ganiga as co-secretary, Suresh Ermal as sports secretary and executive committee members Pramod Suvarna, Hariprasad Nandalike, Ganesh Sabarakatte, Sanjiva Ardi, Santhosh Nayak, Udaya Kumar Tallur and Harshini were elected.

The election process was conducted by news officer Manjunath. Outgoing president Ganesh Prasad Pandelu handed over the charge to the new president. Outgoing secretary Santhosh Nayak read the report. Outgoing treasurer Diwaker Bhandary tabled the accounts. Rakesh Kunjoor compered the programme.
