Kaup: Man accidentally falls into pond, loses life

Kaup, Feb 17: In an unfortunate incident which happened on Tuesday February 16, a person who had visited Uliyar temple as an assistant cook, accidentally fell into a pond and lost his life. The victim, Ramakrishna Bhat (51) hailed from Mallaru Kombagudde.

Bhat had come to Uliyar Durgaparameshwari temple on Monday night to work as assistant cook for a religious programme that was to be held at the said temple. On Tuesday, he had gone near to the pond when he accidentally slipped and fell into the pond, it is believed.

His body was found floating in the temple pond sometime later. It was brought out with the help of Soori Shetty from Kaup. After postmortem, the mortal remains were handed over to the relatives of the deceased.

Kaup police, who visited the spot, registered a case and began investigation.
