Kundapur: Congress supported Girija Shetty elected president of Keradi gram panchayat

Kundapur, Feb 18: Congress supported Girija Shetty was elected president of Keradi gram panchayat. BJP supported Sudarshan B R was elected vice-president.

Eight BJP supported candidates and six Congress supported candidates had won in Keradi gram panchayat which has a total strength of 14 members. Girija Shetty from Congress and Jyothi V Shetty had contested for the post of president. Both of them secured seven votes each. Therefore, the winner was declared by picking the lots. Congress supported Girija Shetty was lucky to win.

While BJP supported B R Sudarshan received eight votes, Congress supported candidate Manju Kothari received six votes in the election for the post of vice-president.

Kundapur taluk panchayat executive officer Keshava Shettigar was the election officer.
