Mangaluru: Firing incident at Falnir restaurant - Accused arrested

Mangaluru, Feb 19: City police arrested the accused in connection with the firing incident reported at a restaurant in Falnir on October 30 last year.

The arrested accused are Mohammed Sameer alias Kadapara Sameer, Mohammed Arfan, Izaz Mohammed and Junaid Basheer for directly involving in the crime and Hanif Pachambala, Mohammed Sattar, Mohammed Ashraf, S Mohammed Sadik, Mohammed Sharuk alias Sharuk, Abubakar Siddique and Mohammed Askar for helping the accused in absconding and helping financially. Police have seized a knife and revolver from the accused.

It may be recalled, Mohammed Sameer alias Kadapara Sameer, Mohammed Arfan, Izaz Mohammed and Junaid Basheer had been to MCF Kattameta restaurant to have tea. Over a silly reason, the accused had attacked the restaurant staff with a knife. Later, when other staff tried to catch hold of the attackers, Mohammed Sameer made an attempt to fire with a revolver. In this regard, a case had been registered at Mangaluru South police station.

Prime accused Mohammed Sameer alias Sameer Kadapara alias Robert, is associate of Dawood of Bottu in Ullal. He is booked in four cases including in the murder case of Ilyas of the Target group. Arfan is booked in 6 cases including four murder attempt cases.

It is said that the accused were absconding for three months. Those who helped the accused in form of finance and vehicle were arrested and produced before the court.
