Udupi: Fisherman in boat falls into sea, dies

Udupi, Feb 20: A fisherman in a fishing boat accidentally fell into the sea and drowned, here.

Dinaker Kallianpur and Vishwanath Kallianpur on February 16 had gone fishing from Malpe fisheries port on Mahabaleshwar fisheries boat No IND KA 20 MM 924.

Powerful waves hit their boat, shaking it on February 17 at 4.15 am while they were fishing in the deep sea. Vishwanath (48), who was on the boat lost his balance and fell into the water. Dinaker searched for Vishwanath but could not find him. However, on February 19 at 4.30 pm he found a dead body floating a little distance away from the spot where Vishwanath had drowned. Dinaker identified the body as that of Vishwanath. He retrieved the body and took it to Udupi Ajjarkad hospital morgue.
