Kalaburagi, Feb 26: President of Shree Vishwaganga Education and Rural Development Society here, Shankar Biradar (48), committed suicide late night on Wednesday at Vivekananda Nagar here. It is learnt that he was reeling under the burden of loans.
Biradar was running educational institutions and training centres at Sedam and Chitrapur in the district under the said society. Due to coronavirus impact, the institutions had been closed and he was facing tremendous pressure, it has transpired. A few days back, some creditors had threatened him and were about to assault him, it is said.
He has left behind a suicide note in which he said he had decided to end his life because of harassment from his creditors.
