Bantwal: Three Jewellery Shops Looted in Farangipet

Bantwal, Jul 3: The robbers who barged into three jewellery shops in Farangipet here in the intervening night between Friday July 2 and Saturday July 3 have stolen silver ornaments worth more than a lac.

The incident came to light on Saturday July 3 morning. Shoba Jewellers, Rajesh Jewellers and Rajdhani Jewellers near the national highway were the targets for the robbery.In all the three shops, the robbers broke open the key from the centre of the shutter to gain entry. It is said that the jewellery shops did not have gold ornaments and  hence the robbers have taken away all the silver ones.








From Rajadhani Jewellers owned by Ibrahim, ornaments worth nearly one lac, from Rajesh Jewellers owned by Rajesh Acharya ornaments worth Rs 15,000 and from Shobha jewellers owned by Sathish ornaments worth Rs 1,800 were stolen.

Western range IGP Gopal Hosur, Puttur ASP Dr Amit Singh, Bantwal Circle inspector Nanjunde Gowda, Bantwal rural station officer Vinayak Billawa visited the shops and conducted investigations. The dog squad and the fingerprint experts were also pressed into service.
