Puttur: Defamation suit - KSRTC DC among three to get summons

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Mar 10: On the basis of a defamation suit filed in the local court by Abdul Aziz, who served as supervisor in the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) divisional office here, the court has served summons to a former divisional controller of KSRTC and two others. Aziz had filed the case, accusing the trio of complaining against him when he was in service by making false allegations.

When Nagaraja Laxman Shirali was the divisional controller in the KSRTC office here in 2017, Aziz had claimed, staff supervisor Rashmi, and junior assistant Mamata, were made to file complaint of harassment against him. This false complaint was registered, and without holding inquiry, unilaterally he was transferred to Kalaburagi by pressurizing the central office, he said. "I faced departmental inquiry at the central office in this connection. As the complainants did not appear for inquiry even after issuing notices, the inquiry officer, retired district judge, Thammaiah, declared me as innocent," Aziz has explained.

Aziz had approached the high court against his transfer, accusing Nagaraj Shirali of transferring him because of personal grudge. The high court had cancelled the transfer order and allowed him to work at Puttur. Aziz worked at Puttur thereafter and has retired.

On the basis of a criminal complaint filed by Aziz, the court has issued notices to the three seeking their personal presence in the court on March 12.
